December 5, 2008 (Berlin): Selected from a prestigious international field of national winners, SutureAid wins 2nd place in the international contest sponsored by B.Braun called Future of Sutures (www.sutures-bbraun.com). Click Here to view the press release.


November 2008: in early 2008 SutureAid entered the international contest sponsored by B.Braun called Future of Sutures (www.sutures-bbraun.com). SutureAid won first place in the Netherlands at the national phase of this contest, beating nine other contenders. By winning the national phase, SutureAid is automatically entered the international phase of the Future of Sutures contest of B.Braun. All national winners of 27 countries are competing for 3 prices, which will be announced on December 5th in Berlin.


October 2008: SutureAid wins the prestigous "Dutch Desigh Awards". Sub-product category - Industry: www.dutchdesignawards.nl


September 2008: SutureAid commences large scale clinical testing of the SutureAid Debakey forceps in 3 major hospitals in the Netherlands. The main focus is on cardiovascular, vascular and GI surgeons, although many other surgical specialties will be involved. Four different SutureAid Debakey variants, each ready for mass production, will be used for testing, to allow for, and better understand, surgeon preference.


February 2008: SutureAid demonstrates the SutureAid Debakey forceps (use and testing) at the 25th International Gastrointestinal Surgery Workshop in Davos, Switzerland. Over 50 surgeons take part in pre-clinical testing, providing useful and positive user-feedback.


February 2008: SutureAid receives notification from European Patent Office. "It is hereby certified that a European patent has been granted in respect of the invention described in the patent specification for the Contracting States designated in the specification."


October 2007: SutureAid, div of Glengowan BV moves to new offices at Keizerstraat 13, 7411 HC Deventer, The Netherlands.
